All together, there are six dimensions of health. They include physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, environmental, and social. The one I want to focus on is mental health. 5. Spiritual Health

Spirituality is unique to every person. The deepest part of them, the part that lets them make meaning of your world is their “Spirit”. People’s spirits provide them with the revealing sense of who they actually are. Although people may not think of their spiritual wellness much it plays a major role in their lives. People need to discover a sense of meaningfulness in their life and coming to know what purpose he or she has to complete in their life. Some people relate spirituality with religions but to other it may mean to grow in their relationships with others and yourself or become at peace with nature.
(MIke Stone)
Spiritual health is an important component of an individuals well being and an integral aspect of the holistic health philosophy.Physical, mental and spiritual health are deeply intertwined and have a profound effect on one another. This truth is clearly exhibited for instance when someone who is sad on the emotional level experiences fatigue, a loss of energy and/or decreased appetite on the physical level and on the spiritual level they feel out of touch with their true self and disconnected from the universe.Another clear example would be that when spiritually we feel lost and unbalanced, this may cause us to be moody and discontent with life, perhaps we grow emotionally distant from our loved ones and on the physical level we may experience stress or fatigue. On the other hand, when we feel spiritually connected and fulfilled, everything in our life including physical and emotional pain are easier to deal with.
We feel lighter and happier. There's no denying it - when we feel connected and balanced spiritually we feel better physically and emotionally. molNourishing the soul is as important as food, water and exercise.
Spirituality is the way you find meaning, hope, comfort and inner peace in your life. Many people find spirituality through religion. Some find it through music, art or a connection with nature. Others find it in their values and principles.
(Yan Z)
Spiritual health can be very different from person to person. Having a purpose in life almost always means having a religion. Having a good spiritual life can help build people up when they are down. Knowing that there is someone to talk to when you don’t feel you can go to anyone else is very important. Your spiritual life brings peace to you because knowing that someone is there all the time and will never leave your side brings a sense of safety to you.
(Danny B)
Spiritual health can be your relationship with God, or the meaning and purpose of life. certain aspects of spiritual wellness include forgiving, to showing compassion, and loving. being a christian helps with ethics, values, and morals that help guide your decisions. Spiritual wellness includes the development of appreciation for the depth and expanse of life and natural forces that exist in the universe. (chris g)

Spiritual health refers to your relation ship with God and how it effects your life. This can effect how you think ,act and who you hang out with. Ways to keep your spiritual health strong is to read your bible, go to church and talk to God through prayer. This is possibly the most important dimensions in the six dimensions of health. This is because God should be at the center of your life.(Will Ward)

Spirituality is unique to each individual. Your “spirit” usually refers to the deepest part of you, the part that lets you make meaning of your world. Your spirit provides you with the revealing sense of who you are, why you are here and what your purpose for living is. It is that innermost part of you that allows you to gain strength and hope. Spiritual wellness may not be something that you think much of, yet its impact on your life is unavoidable. The basis of spirituality is discovering a sense of meaningfulness in your life and coming to know that you have a purpose to fulfill. For some, spirituality may be equated with traditional religions such as Christianity, Hinduism or Buddhism. For others, it may mean growing in your personal relationships with others, or through being at peace with nature. (JadenS)

Spiritual wellness is a personal matter involving values and beliefs that provide a purpose in our lives. While different individuals may have different views of what spiritualism is, it is generally considered to be the search for meaning and purpose in human existence, leading one to strive for a state of harmony with oneself and others while working to balance inner needs with the rest of the world.(JustinHartenberger)

6. Environmental Health

Environmental health encompasses the surroundings of people. If someone is feeling like they are stuck inside all day, their environmental health is most likely poor. When people go out for regular walks in scenic areas, their environmental health is relatively good. Recycling and picking up trash also improves the environmental health of the community. Different pollutants in the air, like carbon dioxide have a bad effect on environmental health. The water is negatively affected as well, therefore many programs have to be set up to improve the quality of water. Bad water equals bad environmental health. Diseases like the H1N1 flu negatively affect our environment. Our way of life is making every one's environmental health worse because of all the pollution.
(Jacob Robinson)

Pollution is a major factor in Environmental Health. Pollution is a change in the environment from unnatural sources. Pollution is often waste produced in factories or from cars. Factories produce particles of soot and they get released into the air or even nearby rivers. Much of this pollution is released into the air and can destroy the ozone layer. Much of the pollution that is released into the air is breathed in by humans and this can be very dangerous and even deadly if we are exposed too long. (Jon H)

Environmental health is the active process of becoming aware about the environment, otherwise known as the surroundings or the ecosystems of organisms in all. The goal of environmental health is to purify the home environment and eat organically because that will save the environment from dangers such as pollution and all the poisons used to wipe out pests. People are supposed to try and be organic at home, meaning that most of the household items say “organic” on them. “Organic” means that materials and foods are natural, not tested on animals, not made with artificial colors or sweeteners, and contain no added chemicals. It also means that people should try to be better at recycling because that helps prevent landfill build up and unneeded waste. (Caleb A)

Environmental health reflects upon what a person involves themselves in throughout their daily lives. One’s surroundings have a big impact on their ever day life. If you are surrounded by something such as drugs, you are more likely to involve yourself with drugs because that is what you are always around. Environmental health can be considered good and bad. It all depends on what you choose to surround yourself with. If you choose to live in a healthy environment. By choosing a life style of unhealthy choices it will deeply affect one’s environmental health. (Kelli Holcomb)

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Environmental health involves your surroundings around you that you can sometimes not control. In order to keep your environmental health healthy you need to try to keep your surroundings as clean as possible. Unfortunately our environmental health is getting worse so it is making it hard to live. But you can help change that by changing the way you live to better the planet and make it a cleaner place to live. (Josh B)

Environmental health deals with what is surrounding you and the affects of it. Some different things might affect us like places or people. We can help by keeping the things around us clean like air, water, land, and food. People can also affect us. We can be affected by what other people say to us and their different emotions. We need to help keep our environment clean and healthy so we can live in a safe world.( Emily P)

Environmental health is important in keeping one’s six dimensions of health in check. Our environment is always effecting us. The things that affect us in our environment are the activities and people we surround ourselves with. For example if Reginald hangs out with fancy talking people of Parliament then Reginald will probably start talking fancy. Environmental health can be good or bad, it all depends on what is around the person. Environment is also the ecosystem and pollution that effect us physically or can make us stressed. (Christian W)

Environmental health is very important in health because the environment we live in constant and is around us at all times. To keep your environment clean and natural is to keep yourself happy. Chances are if you live in a dirty house you will be in a bad mood more often but if you live in a clean environment where items are rarely lost and everything is organized this person will be happier, generally. This area of wellness can be kept in check by you by recycling or volunteering in the community. (Sam E)

The six dimensions of health are physical, social, mental, emotional, spiritual, and environmental. Being physically health is having the ability of your human body to function properly. Social health is the ability to interact with other people. Mental health is the ability to process information and act properly.
